MNF Player Prop - Chargers @ Jets

Hello everyone! Sorry for the week of absence. I was attending a wedding in the beautiful Virgin Islands, so I'm sure you can understand as to why I avoided technology for the better park of this past week.

But, I've returned home and am ready to dive back into the action.

Gerald Everett Anytime TD Scorer (+350) *Available at DK*

The Chargers are losing receivers left and right and need someone else to step up consistently. Will it be the Tight End Gerald Everett? Perhaps. However, we don’t need consistency in terms of his receptions throughout the entire field. We need consistency in terms of his snap counts and targets in the red zone.

Everett has caught a touchdown pass in each of his last two games. It's apparent that Quarterback Justin Herbert, and Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore, have taken a liking to Everett as of late.

Compared to Donald Parham Jr - the second string tight end for Los Angeles - Everett has accumulated 23 snaps in the red zone, whereas Parham Jr has logged 19.

And that is counting last week’s game vs the Bears in which Everett did not play and Parham Jr saw five snaps in the red zone.

So my expectation is that Everett will be the primary guy, once again, when his team enters the Jets' territory.

Robert Saleh’s defense - while strong - does have its flaws. And of them is allowing the most touchdowns to opposing tight ends per game (0.7).

In total, the New York Jets have surrendered five touchdowns to tight ends.

I get that Herbert still has strong weapons in Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler, but I don’t think either of those players are as attractive for this specific wager.

For both Allen and Ekeler, their respective odds are not as juicy to warrant a bet.

And, furthermore, Allen will have the Jets' top corner - Sauce Gardner - covering him all night, which may make tasks rather difficult, especially when there is limited space to work with in the red zone. And as for Ekeler; he will be facing a run defense that has allowed the fewest rushing touchdowns per game this year (0.1).

So this should open up the door for an opportunity at an Everett touchdown this evening.

Let’s hope the big man can make something happen for us.
