MLB Recap and Strider's Big Night Ahead

Wednesday Recap:

Record: 1-1 (+0.00)

MLB Record: 75-64-1 (+1.51)

Blue Jays -1.5 (-110) vs Nationals Win

Phillies -1.5 (+120) vs Angels Loss

I'm not quite sure where to begin with this Phillies game. The lead changed so many times, my hopes were raised so many times and it all led to disappointment. The Phillies hit two massive homeruns that put them ahead at various points. Trea Turner knocked a three-run bomb in the 6th to put them up one, and then they blew it. And then Bryce Harper hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the 8th and then Kimbrel squandered it.

I could go into more detail about all the shenanigans that occurred, but it's really not worth the time. Just know that it was a roller coaster of emotions.

As for our winner, Toronto finally pulled their weight when they needed to! Well done by the fellas. They took advantage of a weaker team and secured the series win with a 7-0 victory yesterday.

We end up evening out on the day. No harm no foul.

Tonight's MLB Outlook:

In terms of today's baseball action - there's not much to report. The slate is slim, as are the betting opportunities. So I will not be doing any wagering on the diamond this evening.

However, that doesn't mean I won't be monitoring this Dodgers / Braves game.

The other day, I discussed this upcoming matchup and how huge it would be for Spencer Strider's Cy Young campaign. Long story short, I'm letting my 8/1 ticket ride, holding off on hedging and hoping the stud can pull through tonight.

Here are the best odds (In Illinois) for the contenting candidates:

Snell +110 (FanDuel & Caesars)

Strider +210 (FanDuel)

Gallen +450 (FanDuel)

Steele 12/1 (BetRivers)

Strider will be facing off against Lance Lynn. Since being transported to La La Land, Lynn has had a reawakening. In 31 IP, he's allowed 27 hits and just 7 ER. The Dodgers have won all five games that Lynn has started this month.

Circa opened Atlanta as the favorite (-129) for this game, with the total at 8 (-120 shaded to the under). There has yet to be any significant alteration in the market on both the side or the total as of early this morning.

That's about all I've got for baseball, folks.

But, be sure to be on the lookout for my College Football article later today, as I begin to endure yet another season of my alma mater taking years off of my life.

GBR, baby!
